Liam is a Good Name. My cousin's named her first son Liam to preserve the "William" passed down along his father's line but allow my cousin to give him her dad's name as his middle. He's Liam Alan instead of William V. Yes, he would have been a William the V. I'm not sure any non-royalty kid deserves that.

My Liam is also A Lot of Boy. At nearly-four, he could pass for nearly-six on height and verbal/cognitive ability. He knows all of the instruments in the symphony, including what letters they all start with (say "Liam, what instrument starts with 'G'?" and he'll give you "guitar" and "glockenspiel." 'F' gets you "flute" and "flugelhorn"). Adorable kid, too (so's his little brother).

I had a Russian Blue day yesterday. My Ice Queen kit came--lovely--along with a blue-and-white skein of "Promise" from the Yarn Fairy! Excellent! Even better, I was investigating a not-unpacked box of stuff from my last office and found my Turandot kit inside! Huzzah! This kit routinely loses itself. Tsock #1 is 2/3 knitted. After the Christmas Finishing Rush is over (um, that needs to be tomorrow night, I realize), I shall have to finish that kit. I have York and Lancaster in progress--very pretty so far, 3" into working them two at a time.

Err, make that I got my SNOW Queen kit. Duh. It's fitting, what with the 16" or more of the white stuff on the ground here in northern Virginia. Biggest December snowfall ever! I got cabin fevery over the weekend (and decided knitting a dog sweater and a pair of socks for Mom in five days or so was doable....what was I thinking?!), and the black ice makes walking scary, but boy is it pretty!
