Fear of Felting
Sock talk. Yeah.
Right about now, there’s a teeny-weeny crisis of faith going on here in Tsarskoe Tsocko.
The question is, just how much does size really matter?
The answer remains to be seen, and there are no short cuts for finding it.
Here’s what I’m working on right now:

I’m particularly fond of this design - it’s a little felted boot/slipper thing, see. (There’ll be a preview page on the tsite very tsoon… unless of course this crisis proves better-founded than… no, I don’t want to think about that.)
Now, it isn’t as if I haven’t experienced the miracle of felting before. See, for instance, Archie. But this thing has to fit.
I’ve swatched and test-felted until I’m blue in the face. And yes, I know that gauge doesn’t lie. It’s an article not only of belief but of long (and damn near invariable) experience.
So I shouldn’t be worried, right?
Right.
Still… is it just me, or does this thing look HUGE?

(foot included for scale….)
